About Dardanup Primary School
Dardanup Primary School is a small rural school 20km South-East of Bunbury. The school started as a single room building on Ferguson Road before transferring to its current Hayward Street site in 1972.
Over the years new buildings have been constructed, with only one teaching block from the original site remaining. In 2011 a purpose built Early Childhood block was built, along with a dedicated art and music room. The teaching areas are surrounded by open farmland and the school site is covered by many large trees.
Although the school is made up of a relatively small staff, they are all highly dedicated and skilled. The school has 7 Level 3 classroom teachers and 5 Senior Teachers. The staff is very stable with the average length of teaching time at the school is 10 years.
Students come from surrounding areas, many by bus, as well as other towns such as Boyanup, Donnybrook, Eaton, Australind, Bunbury and the Ferguson Valley. Students are well supported by their parents, with a very active School Council, P&C and local community.
Dardanup PS strives for excellence with students entering many different competitions including The West Australian Young Writers’ Competition; Tim Winton Short Story Competition; local Eisteddfords and numerous interschool carnivals.
Dardanup PS embraces its values of Care, Respect, and Responsibility which can be noted in the friendly demeanour of all students and staff. The school site is very welcoming and accepting of all students.
